Nunzia Picciallo, born in Italy, works as a multidisciplinary artist, performer and teacher in different parts of the world.
The investigation that characterizes their work presents itself as a changing and continuous search for the foundational dynamics between the body understood as an evolving subjectivity and the system/space often in relation to other media/devices, inviting a presence beyond the surface, the image, stereotypes.
Her studies include graduating from the Dance Arts Faculty, and Sadna Ga'aton, the studies in Tel Aviv with the LaCollectiz research program and with Batsheva Dance Company where he deepened the practice of Gaga movement language with Ohad Naharin, Bosmat Nossan and others teacher* and finally obtains the teaching certification.
Nunzia has collaborated as a dancer and performer with various artists including Lilach Livne, Danièl Desnoyer, Federica Rossellini for Biennale Teatro, Alex Mitutziu, Enzo Cosimi, Omer Krieger, Penthouss, Nimrod Freed, Edo Ceder, Francesca Fini, YY live art, Dana Hafouta, Import Dance.
Nunzia’s creations have been presented in various spaces and festivals in Italy, France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Taiwan, the Canary Islands, Israel, Palestine, Panama, United States.
She received various awards and recognitions including the Performance Award at the 27th International Solo Tanz-Theater, SAI Festival Award and Masdanza Award, Cortoindanza 2023 Choreographic Writing Incentive Award; artist selected for Stray Birds Dance Platform 2023, and the Showcase of young authorial dance in 2022; winner of Circle Contemporary Dance Contest 2021.
With his latest work, she won the Cura 2024 and Boarding Pass Plus 2024 project and is a finalist for the Twain_direzioniAltre Prize.
Her abstract painting creations have been presented in personal exhibitions at Hagra Cultural Center (IL), Spazio Michela Santoro, and in collective exhibitions at Extra Factory Gallery, Foundation E.P. Santomasi, Atelier Montez (IT), Copelouzos Family Art Museum (GR), Cie Résonances (FR).
In her latest works, W am I, OFFICINA, RESTI, Nunzia has also created the sounds of the performances.
At the moment Nunzia is developing and creating a new performance called Lemmy B., winner of the Cura 2024 project and of Boarding Pass Plus Dance 2024, as well as the WAMI and W am I is still a question performance tour.

Alongside her performance practice, Nunzia dedicates herself to sharing Gaga movement workshops and classes, bringing together dance professionals and people with different backgrounds and abilities.
As a guest teacher, Nunzia has held lectures in Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Panama, Belgium, Japan, Taiwan, for various facilities and festivals, including La Biennale di Venezia, Taiwan National University or Arts, University of Panama City, Milkshake Project Paris, Marameo and Dock 11 Berlin, SceneKunst, Compagnia Balletto di Roma, Da.Re. Dance Research, District Dance Festival, DanzArt Festival, Prospettiva Danza Teatro, R.i.d.a. Program, Opificio in Movimento, and International Creative Hub to name a few.
