Affective residue

Affective Residue is a site-responsive performance and installation created in collaboration with the performers of Contemporary ACT Kyiv, Ukraine.
Following three days of workshops and shared practice, the work explores the relationship between body, gesture, and memory through movement and painting. The performers leave behind visible traces; the action becomes a mark, and each mark tells the story of the body’s impact—often silent but profound—on space and on the self.
By allowing the body to speak through gesture and the creation of traces, the performance invites the audience to reflect on how we inscribe ourselves into the world and into each other—sometimes irreversibly. Affective Residue thus opens a space for reflection on the ethics of action, the persistence of memory, and the politics of embodied resistance.
